New Database: Credo Reference

Credo Reference is an online multi-disciplinary reference resource including encyclopedias, dictionaries, biographies, bilingual dictionaries  covering 400+ titles from accountancy to zoology supported with 200, 000 images including 50,000 fine art images and audio and video clips (e.g. dna replication). You can also literally ‘Continue searching in’ the library catalogue and some of the other databases available from Özyeğin University Library Collection.

Informaworld forthcoming downtime

Informaworld will be unavailable on Wednesday 8th September, 07:00 – 09:00 B.S.T./06:00 – 08:00 G.M.T. in order to complete some essential work.

Library working hours during the Bayram holiday

The Library will be closed  from 12:30 noon on Wednesday 8^th September for the Bayram eve and through the Ramadan Bayram holiday between 9 – 12 September.

e-textbooks

Students often complain about the cost of textbooks and try to rely on library copies or other means.

Did you know that there are thousands of e-textbooks – some free and some we pay a subscription for access- available these days?

Obviously, the e-textbooks available  may not always meet your needs. However it may be worth checking the e-book collections, if you haven’t done so already and see if there are any titles you wish to include in your reading lists.

In addition the e-textbooks are accessible 7/24 from anywhere.

New finance and statistical information resources

Library collection is growing rapidly with the addition of new databases.

Global Develeopment Finance (GDF)

The database covers more than 200 debt and financial flows indicators for the 128 countries with data from 1970 to present. Global Development Finance includes a narrative account of recent trends with tables summarizing the capital flows and debt statistics for reporting countries.

Global Economic Monitor (GEM)

GEM provides monthly briefs of topical issues; Global Trends, high income countries (United States, Japan, Euro Area), industrial production, high-tech markets, international trade, commodity prices, international finance.

World Develeopments Indicators (WDI)

The database covers more than 900 indicators which are a selection of economic, social and environmental for 210 economies with data back to 1960.

SSRN is now available

Social Science Research Network (SSRN) is devoted to the rapid worldwide dissemination of social science research and is composed of a number of specialized research networks in each of the social sciences.

About The Library Group Study Rooms

The Library Group Study Rooms will not be available from 30th July due to various renovation work throughout the campus.

They will be available again for the new academic year with the new quiet study spaces to be added to the Library spaces.
